5G-AHEAD – Towards 5G: A High-speed Energy-efficient Autonomously Deployed mobile small-cell network

5G-AHEAD plans to design high-speed connectivity from core network to small cells, through cooperative LTE-A wireless nodes. Additionally, a cooperative network coding overlay is foreseen as another dimension of energy/spectrum efficiency. The project additionally plans to investigate self-organising (SO) small cells and mobility for optimizing network operability.
